Skittering in tenebrous chasm,
wailing dunes reflective bite;
devouring, itself devoured,
by a beast as vast as night.
Hard plate coils, mountainous,
neath frailty of fleeting flesh;
to slough all decrepit roots,
and vestal peaks to ruly thresh.
Revealing rot it smothers —
newborn maw of mirrored glass;
consuming in silent radiance,
As a cold star’s deathless mass.
